Hilton of Cadboll Stone – Images

Below are some detail images of the Hilton of Cadboll Stone. Barry Grove spent over 4 years carving by hand both sides of this 4 m high block of Clashach sandstone. The sculpture is a reconstruction of the original monument carved by the Picts- it now resides in the national Museum of Scotland, Edinburgh.

This carving established Barry Grove as one of the countries eminent stone sculptors working at this scale, detail and historical accuracy.
